Cream Cheese Frosting Made with Buttermilk Syrup

Dennis Weaver Dennis Weaver Dec 14, 2024

I love cream cheese frostings. This one is made with a buttermilk syrup.

  • 12 ounces of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2-cup butter, softened
  • 1/3-cup buttermilk syrup, any flavor
  • about four cups confectioner's powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Whip the butter and cream cheese together.
  2. Add the buttermilk syrup  to the cream cheese spread and about a cup of the powdered sugar. With the mixer on low, beat the frosting. Add more powdered sugar to reach the desired thickness.  Beat the frosting at a higher speed to make it light and fluffy.

Store the frosting in the refrigerator.
