Very Fudgy Baby Cake Mix
This is the best, richest, most chocolatey cake you'll find.
This is a big league cake; there is nothing minor here.
It's a cream cake, not a fluffy cake like you get from the store. It's got lots of chocolate pieces in the batter, actual chocolate. If it was a store mix, all the chocolate would sink to the bottom. This is a thick, heavy-duty batter.
But be aware--we designed this as a professional cupcake and small dessert mix, with enough chocolate to compete with a filling and a frosting. It's luxuriant.
It makes fabulous cakes--but then, I'm a chocoholic
"Super fudgy! I made the mistake of making a cake. It's way too rich and fudgy for a cake. The next one I will do the cupcakes, that will make perfect little cakes."-- Winona HoffmanI don't think it was a mistake; you just have to love chocolate.
"I love chocolate and this cake really hits the spot! I would buy it again!" --Sheryl Roche"I used this cake mix to make a black forest, gateau . . . . They said it was the best cake they ever had." Janice Binford
Questions
- So it's more chocolaty. Did you just add more cocoa? No, we used better cocoa. And then we added little pure chocolate pieces. The chocolate melts in the baking, leaving pockets of pure melted chocolate.
- Anything else? These are not light and fluffy cupcakes like from a grocery store. It's a cream cake mix.
- What's a cream cake mix? Think pudding-in-the -mix. It's not as dense as a pound cake but it's somewhere between a pound cake and a grocery store mix.
- Well, did it work? We think so. And our customers think so. It's a 100% five-star product.
- What if someone in the family thinks it's too much chocolate? Whip out some vanilla ice cream and tone it down.
- Why don't the grocery stores follow, use more and better cocoa? It's too expensive. Grocery stores compete on cost.
- How can you compete? We don't have the overhead that a grocery store has. Grocery stores have to locate where the people are. We're located in a bunch of fields. It costs less to do business in the country.
- How many cupcakes will it make? 20 to 24 cupcakes.
